The City of Fort Worth Development Services Department announced they will be hosting their second "Development 101" workshop. The free workshop is the result of a partnership between the Fort Worth Development Services Department, Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth, Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce.
The event will be hosted in the Future City Hall building located at 100 Energy Way and required registration is already open, walk-ins will not be accepted.
The City states these workshops' purpose is to "open a dialogue, as well as provide a roadmap to those looking to understand the development process". This specific workshop will feature concurrent breakout sessions on the following:
- Zoning
- Infrastructure
- Permits/Inspection
The City states the workshops are meant to be collaborative: questions and discussions from the audience are highly encouraged and can be submitted in advance upon registration (linked above).
DJ Harrell, Fort Worth Development Services Director, described the goal of the workshops:
The overwhelmingly positive response from the development community lets us know that we’re on to something. The more we work in unison with private development, the better the results are for our overall community, such as, orderly development, smart growth principles and sustainable development.
While more seasoned investors may not need a workshop to guide them through the development process, the meeting could offer insight into the minds of both smaller investors and the public at large. Given the great relevance of public sentiment for developers, getting a first-hand view could prove useful.
